On the evening of Wednesday 24th January, Hethersett Academy’s Music Scholars took to the stage to show their progress and development with a fantastic evening of music.

This year the Year 8 cohort (the first year of music scholars) was joined by a new intake of Year 7s with singers and musicians of the piano, trumpet, flute, drums, violin, cello and clarinet.

The audience was thrilled to hear individual performances from the scholars, showcasing their talent and how far they have developed over their time taking lessons at the school.

The evening was supported by Hethersett Academy’s Head of Music, Tom Hilton and the Trust’s Director of Music, John Stephens, who supported pupils on the night by playing backing tracks and accompaniment for them.

The Inspiration Trust places a high value on music education and understands that musical opportunities are not always easy to find, so aims to create them for its students.

Students engage fully in the musical life of the school. They are reliable members of school bands, choirs and ensembles as well as perform regularly in school, at Trust-wide events, and external events organised by Hethersett Academy. They must also work hard at improving their musical skills by following the instructions of their teachers and practising between lessons.
