Open Evening 2021

With the deadline growing closer by when you will have to decide which secondary school your child(ren) will attend, I would like to invite you to our Open Evening on Monday 27th September 2021 from 6:00pm – 8:30pm.

There will be three opportunities to hear my address at 6pm, 7pm and 8pm and our school will be open to browse our facilities from 6pm. If you plan to attend the address at 6pm, please arrive from 5:30pm so you can be seated.

We are the most successful non-boarding state school in Norfolk and Ofsted have recognised the outstanding work that we do here at the Academy. We are fully committed to maintaining this high standard in making education exciting and appropriately challenging for every student. Please do view our prospectus here.

Our students are hard-working and well-behaved and our staff are dedicated and constantly developing innovative lessons to inspire and motivate our students. Behaviour is outstanding as students are keen to learn and respond well to challenges. We teach our children to be kind, work hard, take pride and embrace opportunities. We have excellent facilities, including a new state of art: Theatre, Art studios, dark room, 16 new classrooms, drama studio, library, food technology classrooms, science laboratories and multi surface sports court.

Students at Hethersett Academy are supported by our strong pastoral system and Year 6 students attend transition days in July before more conventional learning in the classroom begins. We are committed to creating an atmosphere which is conducive to a smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 7, beginning with transition activities in Key Stage 2, the transition days in July and a settling in evening for parents early in the autumn term. Key Stage 4 begins in Year 9 so that students are well prepared for their GCSEs in Year 11.

Students are guided in making choices, with Work Experience taking place in Year 10 and a programme of careers being delivered to all year groups. If you would like to see for yourself how Hethersett Academy could help your child to reach their potential in a caring and idyllic location, please come along to our Open Evening, there is no need to book.

Car Parking -  you can park in the front and back car park onsite / The Library (next to the front of school), postcode NR9 3DB. When this car park is full, please use the back of school car park next to Hethersett Youth Club, postcode NR9 3QL, where you will be directed to park on the school field.

We look forward to welcoming you to our school.
