Academy Day

The academy day is split into five and six periods, with a mid-morning and lunch break.

The compulsory school day runs from 8:40am to 2:50pm on Monday and Friday, and 8:40am to 3:50pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, totalling 33 hours and 50 minutes per week.

Our extended school day helps ensure protected time for sports and the arts so that all students get access to these essential pursuits in addition to the exams they are studying towards.

Break and lunch timings are altered during GCSE and Mock examination periods, to allow Year 10/11 students enough time to complete a morning exam before break, and an afternoon exam after lunch. While this is subject to change according to exam timetables, the typical pattern for examination periods is below:
