Outstanding GCSE Results: Set for success at Hethersett Academy

Hethersett Academy has once again demonstrated its excellence, with a remarkable set of GCSE results that reinforce its position as one of Norfolk’s and East Anglia’s top-performing schools, with 45% of grades, 7 or above.

An impressive 87% of students scored 9-4 grades in English and maths, 71% achieved 9-5 and 35% were grades 9-7 and students achieved an Attainment 8 of 58.7! This continued success reflects the academy’s unwavering commitment to high standards, student achievement, and a culture of aspiration. 

Principal Jane Diver said: 

“We are so proud of the exceptional achievements of our students both today and throughout their time with us at Hethersett Academy. Their dedication, resilience and commitment to excellence have shone through every challenge. 

 

Achieving these outstanding grades is a testament not only to their hard work, but also to the unwavering support of our teachers, families, and the wider community. I am incredibly proud of each and every one of them and excited to see where their talents and ambitions take them next. Congratulations to all.” 

These results build on the success of last year which saw Hethersett Academy students achieve progress that was in the top 40 state schools in the country. 

Both Seva and Khrystyna joined Hethersett Academy from Ukraine. They have both worked incredibly hard, showing incredible determination and resilience, and achieved fantastic results. Khrystyna said:  

“I'm just so happy. It has been a really emotional journey, and I'm just so grateful and excited for the future.” 

Joe Spence, who held the prestigious position of Head Boy at Hethersett Academy, achieved an impressive 10 grades 7-9. He said:  

“It has been such an amazing experience and a privilege to work with the school.  We've had so many opportunities open to us, and it has been incredible to have been part of such a great team.”

  • Amelia E 4 x grade 9, 6 x grade 8 
  • Anna M 7 x grade 9, 3 x grade 8 
  • Elhassan Ah 10 x grade 9-7, including 7 x grade 9 
  • Evie P 9 x grade 9, 1 x grade 8 

It’s been a landmark year for Hethersett Academy, marked by the opening of a new teaching block that brings together cutting-edge technology classrooms and enhanced social spaces for students. The school also proudly received the prestigious Art Mark Award, recognising its commitment to creativity and cultural education. Capping off these achievements, the excellent GCSE results attained by students has been a true highlight, reflecting the hard work, ambition, and support across the school community.
