Hethersett Academy Named Design and Technology Association, Hub School for Norfolk
Back
At Hethersett Academy we are delighted to be named Design and Technology Association, Hub School for Norfolk this term. Given this designation, we are working together to strengthen D&T provision, connect teachers across regions, and provide locally rooted, teacher-led support that reflects the real needs of schools.
Kate Finlay, Head of D&T and Subject Lead across the Inspiration Trust has also been named as Regional D&T Leader by the association. These leaders have a wealth of experience, from curriculum innovation to industry engagement, and are ready to offer guidance, share good practice, and highlight CPD, events, and opportunities available through the D&T Association. Their work ensures that teachers have a strong voice in shaping national D&T strategy, while also receiving practical, day-to-day support in their schools.
Jane Diver, Principal said:
"We are thrilled that Hethersett Academy has been named a D&TA D&T Hub School for our region. This accolade celebrates our outstanding staff, the remarkable creativity of our students, and our commitment to innovation and excellence.
As an Ofsted Outstanding school with a vibrant culture of ambition and belonging, we are excited to lead, inspire and champion exceptional Design and Technology education across our community."
We welcomed Lol Conway, Curriculum and Professional Development Manager at the Design and Technology Association, alongside other leaders in the D&T education space to visit our department and celebrate the designation of our school as Hub School for Norfolk. We are excited for the future and to encourage other schools across the county to engage and teach D&T that inspires the next generation.
